چکیده

Abstract The exploratory experiments of laser fusion welding with Sn powder and the automotive adhesive addition were conducted for DP590 dual-phase steel AZ31B magnesium alloy in an overlap steel-on-magnesium configuration. characteristics metal vapor/plasma analyzed by collecting analyzing plasma shape spectra. microstructure welded was characterized scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), energy dispersive spectrometer (EDS). temperature field distribution joint simulated COMSOL finite-element software. results showed that transfer heat from to is hindered layer, which conducive simultaneous melting large differences boiling points. In addition, width molten pool increases, but depth shallow on side. Meanwhile, recoil pressure induced splashing reduces, surface quality weld improved. Some intermetallic compounds (IMCs), such as FeSn, Fe 1.3 Sn, 3 are formed inside pool, while columnar dendrite Mg 2 phase also produced. presence these phases helps realize bidirectional metallurgical bonding steel/magnesium dissimilar metals.

Control of Welding Residual Stress for Dissimilar Laser Welded Materials

The most common problem of welding dissimilar metals (DMWs) with respect to residual stresses is the differences in the coefficient of thermal expansion and heat conductivity of the two welded metals. In the present work, a CO2 continuous laser welding process was successfully applied and optimized for joining a dissimilar AISI 316 stainless steel and low carbon steel plates. The Taguchi approa...

Formability Analysis of Diode-Laser-Welded Tailored Blanks of Advanced High-Strength Steel Sheets

Currently, advances due to tailored blanking can be enhanced by the development of new grades of advanced high-strength steels (HSSs), for the further weight reduction and structural improvement of automotive components. In the present work, diode laser welds of three different grades of advanced high-strength dual-phase (DP) steel sheets (with tensile strengths of 980, 800, and 450 MPa) to hig...

Formability Study of Steel Tailor laser Welded Blanks (TWB) in Stretch Forming

The use of TWB has been developed in automotive industries because of it’s advantages such as reduction in weight, cost and fuel economy of vehicles. The main objective of the peresent work is to study the effects of weld zone, diffrence in surface coating and thickness ratio on the formability of TWB composed of AISI 304, SPCC and IF steel sheets. It was found that the narrow weld zone has lit...
